Sukkot @ TJ

The busy autumn holiday season is in full swing at Temple Judea, and we’re embracing Z’man Simchateinu, the season of our rejoicing, as we gear up for Sukkot! Kicking off tomorrow evening and lasting for seven glorious days, Sukkot is not just a harvest festival; it’s the only Jewish festival that comes with a direct commandment to rejoice! And boy, do we have some fantastic ways to celebrate together in our beautifully decorated sukkah, thanks to our ECC parents and community members!
Tomorrow night, the Women of Temple Judea invite all the ladies to come out for Sukkot, Sangria, & More at 6 PM! We’ll start with a special women’s Erev Sukkot Service, followed by an evening of delicious sangria, tasty snacks, dinner, and energetic Israeli dancing with the amazing Orly Starr. Let’s kick up our heels and celebrate!
But wait, there’s more! Everyone is invited to fulfill the mitzvah of gathering in the sukkah at a delightful Super Sukkot Shabbat experience under the stars on Friday night at 6:15pm. Want to add your personal touch to our sukkah? Come early at 5:30pm to put the finishing touches on the Sukkah…it’s a Mitzvah! And if you’re one of our 100+ new members, we’re thrilled to invite you to a special New Member Reception at 5pm in the upper outdoor Grossblatt Chapel. Meet your community, clergy, and lay leadership, and then share a special blessing during the Sukkot Shabbat service. Don’t forget to RSVP here!
The celebration doesn’t stop there! On Monday evening, we'll appreciate our incredible social action & sack lunch volunteers, and Tuesday night is TJ’s “famous” SukkotFest at 7pm, hosted by the TJ Brotherhood. Get ready for an evening packed with music, blessings, good beer and beverages, and mouthwatering brats (we’ve got beef, chicken, and vegetarian options)! And don’t miss out on Wednesday evening at 6pm in the Goor Sanctuary, as we transition to Simchat Torah, celebrating the end of one Torah cycle and the joyful beginning of another with a service full of dancing, singing, and the unrolling of the Torah.
So much to celebrate, so much to connect over! We can’t wait to see you in the sukkah as we honor our rich Jewish heritage together!
*Please note that our administrative offices and schools will close October 17 for Sukkot and October 24 for Simchat Torah.
