Temple Judea’s back-to-school buzz isn’t just for kids – it’s a high-energy season for adults, too!  Our reinvigorated, reimagined Adult Education initiative, led by Rabbi Raff in his new role as Rabbi-in-Residence, is kicking off with two incredible new learning opportunities!

Starting this fall, our all-new Speaker Series promises to broaden your understanding of Jewish life and your engagement with Jewish knowledge. Prepare for captivating monthly talks from community experts and new speakers, starting November 1st with Rav Ahud Sela's "Seeing Angels in the Shadow of Death," about healing in the face of challenges and loss. Later in the series we’ll ponder “Would God Want to Live in our Neighborhood?” with Rabbi Ed Feinstein, explore Persian music and history with Cantor Jacqueline Rafii, tour "Passover Around the World" with Rabbi Tarlan Rabizadeh, and gain parenting insights from experts Dr. Bruce Powell and Ilana Jaffe-Lewis - and that’s just a sneak peek!

Temple Judea is also offering unique learning opportunities for our families! In addition to our renowned Parenting Center classes, Rabbi Raff will be offering tailored sessions for parents, grandparents, and caregivers of ECC and Religious School-aged children. These sessions will decode the “how to’s” and the “why’s” of Shabbat, Chanukah, and Passover so TJ families are better equipped to celebrate and observe these holidays and festivals at home. Rabbi Raff will also present a 3-part series to our Temple Judea community on Jewish beliefs and practices about death and dying, including how to talk about death with your children, what it means to observe a yahrzeit, how to practice shiva, and more.

Plus, TJ's existing, standout adult programs are back and better than ever! From favorites like our ongoing weekly Torah Study to TJ's year-long Adult B’nei Mitzvah class, to an enriching partnership with Melton Adult Jewish Learning (enrolling now), we’re gearing up for a year of learning, growing, and fun. And let's not forget all the clubs and auxiliary groups who meet regularly throughout the year to share a love of learning via book clubs, movie talks, mah jongg lessons, challah baking, and more!

At Temple Judea we’re all about fostering a vibrant, intellectual Jewish life.  Whether you have an hour or are ready for dedicated study, it’s time to embrace meaningful learning like never before! Stay tuned for the full schedule of speakers and topics -- including some bonus speakers hosted by our auxiliary groups -- as Jewish education continues here at Temple Judea!
