At Temple Judea, our community is completely underwritten by the generous support that each of you contributes. While membership contributions help us to pay for a portion of our operational overhead, they don’t cover all of it. That’s why gifts of the heart – giving above and beyond your minimum expected membership contribution -- is so important. Temple Judea relies on our dedicated Pillars, our annual High Holy Day Appeal, and a variety of special giving opportunities to power the programs that make our synagogue a place of connection, growth, and belonging. While you’ve seen a mention of them in our monthly Todah Rabbah e-newsletter, you still might want to know:  what exactly are these special giving funds, and why do they matter?

From the Music Fund that allows Temple Judea to bring our community together through music to the Prayerbook and Torah Fund that helps preserve our Torah scrolls, every donation—big or small—creates lasting impact. Whether you’re giving to a fund supporting educational programs, helping families in need, uplifting social justice initiatives, or providing scholarships for high school seniors, your gifts help Temple Judea continue the vibrant programs that speak to your heart and matter most to the community. A beautiful way to do this is to dedicate a fund donation in honor or in memory of a loved one. By celebrating a milestone, honoring someone’s legacy, or simply giving thanks, your donation becomes a heartfelt tribute that makes a lasting difference. 

Another impactful way to give is through our Endowment Fund—a special fund where your gift is invested, and only the earnings are used, allowing your contribution to support Temple Judea in perpetuity:  l'dor v'dor, from generation to generation. The beauty of the Endowment is that it continues to grow over time, with every donation—no matter the size—compounding to build a lasting revenue source at the foundation of the synagogue. It's one of the best ways to ensure that the values and programs you hold dear remain at the heart of Temple Judea for all the years to come.
