Community Story: TJ Brotherhood

One of our most active auxiliary groups is our Brotherhood: a fun, connected, supportive place for the men of Temple Judea to gather together to learn, have fun, and give back to the community. From their annual Christmas morning pancake breakfast to their "Beers and Brats in the Sukkah," to their delicious BBQ spreads, TJ Brotherhood brings their unique and wonderful energy to everything they do. Last weekend, the Brotherhood organized a private tour of Dodger Stadium for 40 of our members, and later this month they're hosting an Israeli wine tasting event, complete with hors d'oeuvres provided by Women of Temple Judea, a delicious Mediterranean dinner catered by Carnival, and of course - wine! Throughout the year, the Brotherhood is present at nearly every temple-wide event. They serve as greeters at services and work as “the grill guys” at the Purim Carnival and our Back to Shul Shabbat. Their philantrhopic efforts run the gamut as well, from their huge contributions to Mitzvah Day and our High Holy Day prayerbooks, to providing Yom HaShoah candles to our entire community. We are grateful to the Brotherhood for everything they do for Temple Judea and our community at large.
Whether they're hosting a speaker series, a museum stroll, a special retreat, or gathering for their regular "Catching up and Cocktails" (now called Ashim), or monthly poker game: in everything they do, TJ Brotherhood truly lives up to their name.
