As we close the door on this year’s High Holy Day season, we look ahead with excitement to the many moments of connection and inspiration still to come. Temple Judea has so much in store, and we can’t wait for you to be part of it.
In just two weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to join this year’s Women’s Retreat, a cherished annual event hosted by Women of Temple Judea on Saturday, November 1st. Led by Rabbi Cantor Wissot and Rabbi Cantor Blum, this full-day experience offers the perfect chance for reflection, renewal, and meaningful connection as we explore this year’s theme: “The Mitzvah Is Upon Us to Tell Our Story.”
Now more than ever, sharing and passing down our Jewish stories matter deeply. This retreat will give you the space to tell your story in a safe, sacred, and nonjudgmental setting surrounded by your community.
The day begins with an optional Pilates session to awaken mind and body, followed by a light breakfast. At 10:30am, The Braid—a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring Jewish storytelling—will guide a reflective writing workshop. Led by experienced facilitators, you’ll join a supportive circle of women to transform personal memories into meaningful stories and enjoy the creative process together.
Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch, singing, crafts, and the chance to bring your written story to life through movement. The retreat continues with a text study and teaching session, concluding with a beautiful Havdalah under the stars. We hope to see you there.
As mentioned above, Temple Judea is all about creating fun and meaningful experiences for everyone—so let’s shift gears and spotlight our thriving TJBrotherhood!
On Monday, October 27, join the guys of Brotherhood for a relaxed Men's Night Out at Hand-Brewed Beer in Chatsworth. Enjoy a backyard-style atmosphere with pizza, craft beer (and other beverages), great conversation, and plenty of laughs as you meet new friends and reconnect with familiar faces.
Then, mark your calendars for Saturday, November 9, when Brotherhood hits the road for an outing to the Petersen Automotive Museum. This world-renowned nonprofit museum features one of the largest and most impressive collections of automobiles, celebrating the history, artistry, and innovation of the car world. It’s sure to be a day that will rev you up! Learn More.
And the fun doesn’t stop there—the 2nd Annual TJ Brotherhood Bowling Tournament rolls into November, with more details coming soon. Keep your eyes peeled for sign-up info and start practicing your strike!
Finally, wrap up the year with a beloved Temple tradition: the Brotherhood Annual Pancake Breakfast on Thursday, December 25. Come hungry for the Brotherhood’s world-famous pancakes, plus bagels, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, and more. Come for the food—stay for the fun and community!
With so many great events ahead, there’s no better time to get involved, connect, and be part of Women of Temple Judea or the TJBrotherhood!
