Seudah Shlishit Selichot
09.02.25 | News
As the High Holy Days draw near, we're looking ahead to next Saturday, September 13, as our community is invited to gather for a powerful afternoon that combines two sacred traditions: Seudah Shlishit and Selichot. Seudah Shlishit is the third meal of Shabbat, which holds a unique place in Jewish life and is often described as the most spiritual meal of the week. It's a time for a unique blend of reflection, conversation, and community connection that will help us enter the High Holy Day season with open hearts and minds.
In addition to a light nosh, this year’s event will explore themes from NBC’s The Good Place. The philosophical and comedic television series from 2016, starring Ted Danson and Kristen Bell. For those who aren’t familiar, beneath its humor, the show offers reflections on morality, legacy, and the ripple effect of our choices. We'll watch an episode and discuss how the characters, story, and theme resonate with Jewish ideas and ethics -and then stay for a traditional, candlelight Selichot service.
The event is free and open to all current members in good standing, but registration is required. You can find out more information by clicking here.
If you have not yet renewed your annual commitment and reserved your High Holy Day tickets, please be sure to do so quickly! Some services are beginning to fill up and we'd hate for you to miss out on your first choice of service. To renew your annual membership, you can fill out this form or email .
We hope you’ll join us for this rich and inspiring experience, as we prepare together for the days ahead.
