This year Temple Judea will participate in the 8th Annual #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that takes place the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
According to JENSA (Jewish Education Service of North America), the strength of one's Jewish identity correlates directly with the strength of their Jewish education - specifically, the number of years that a student is involved, the variety of programming he/she experiences, and the amount of time they spend learning about Judaism. And yet, so many of our young people end their Jewish education as soon as they are Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Just when they are actively exploring their personal identity, just as their opportunities for new, dynamic , and relevant educational explorations increase, they drop off, move on, shift focus.
And this is why, for this year’s #GivingTuesday campaign, Temple Judea will be raising money to sponsor our 2020 Bar/Bat Mitzvah class in Temple Judea's Teen Journeys program.
This year’s goal is to provide every Bar or Bat Mitzvah with a certificate for free or dramatically subsidized tuition so our young members stay with their Jewish education after their big day, and become engaged young leaders of our congregation. And thanks to the generosity of Sandy Sigal and his family, your donation will be matched - so that every dollar you donate becomes two.
Help us keep our congregation – and the Jewish people – strong, involved, invested and proud.
Through #GivingTuesday we will strengthen our synagogue home to ensure that Judaism and Jewish values continues to be at the forefront of our conversation for all generations.
Our goal is to have each Temple Judea family participate in
We are asking each Temple Judea family to consider
a minimum gift of $50.00.
