TORAH, TRADITION & TOGETHERNESS: SHAVUOT AT TJ! Beginning on the evening of Thursday, May 21, we celebrate the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, marking the moment when the Torah was given to Moses and the entire Israelite people gathered at Mount Sinai - an experience that profoundly shaped Jewish faith, identity, and history. Jewish tradition informs us that while the giving of the Torah happened once, the receiving of the Torah is ongoing in each generation through study, reflection, questioning, and the daily practice of its teachings. As one of the three major pilgrimage festivals, together with Passover and Sukkot, Shavuot calls us to rediscover the awe and inspiration of what happened at Mount Sinai through learning, music, and communal celebration.

Please join us on Friday, May 22 at 5 PM for a meaningful and uplifting Shavuot celebration with Rabbi Aaronson in a relaxed, welcoming space for thoughtful conversation, meaningful insights, and a little dairy nosh to enjoy together. This is a free Temple Judea event, but registration is required. Please register HERE. We look forward to celebrating this powerful tradition together.

Following our celebration, we will gather for Erev Shabbat Services where we will honor and acknowledge the ongoing commitments our Confirmands have made to Jewish living and learning.

Please Note: In observance of Shavuot, Temple Judea offices and schools will be closed on Friday, May 22, reopening at 5pm for Shavuot Learning & Erev Shabbat Services. We will also be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.
