You might have heard the terms: looksmaxxing, sleepmaxxing, tanmaxxing… but have you heard of TJMaxxing?? No, it’s not about shopping for the best bargains! It’s about maximizing your Temple Judea experience and realizing that by being a member here, you’re an important part of something extra special!
Perhaps you first joined Temple Judea because your children attend our nursery school. Or maybe you joined because you have a student studying to become Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Maybe you’re a senior, looking for ways to connect with your community in a meaningful, joyful, supportive way. Or you simply feel compelled to explore your spirituality as a Jew in this complicated world. Regardless of what brought you here, you’re not “just” an ECC family, or a Religious School family, or a TJVillager. You’re not “just” a face in the pews on Friday evenings, a TJBro, or a Woman of Temple Judea. You’re actually a cherished member of our extended Jewish family, and just like in any family, your presence shapes the rest of us, and the rest of us, in turn, shape you.
As a Temple Judea member, you are part of something larger, something greater than yourself. Each of us is a spoke in a wheel: only together can we move forward.
Our clergy, staff, and the rest of your community are here for you. If you're looking for new ways to connect or aren't sure where to start, shoot an email to our Director of Engagement, Kimberly Bonheim Birbrower, at and she can help you! Our shared vision is to make sure no member, and no program, is siloed. Did you join TJ for our award-winning schools? You can still attend a Women’s Retreat, a Men’s tequila tasting, or a star-studded concert! Are you a Torah Study regular? Try adding an Erev Shabbat service to your repertoire! Whatever brought you to Temple Judea at first, step outside of the box to attend a new event, join a committee like Caring Community, learn a new skill with People of the Yarn, or simply show up somewhere you've never been before.
For more ideas, take a look at our upcoming events and see what speaks to you! On Sunday, June 28, there will be music ringing from the rafters at the 2026 Judea Bowl. Throughout the summer, there will be opportunities to give back through social action projects like sack lunch packing and our backpack packing event and opportunities to learn at Torah Study and other engaging adult education offerings. And as summer winds down, we’ll come together for one of our favorite traditions, the Back to Shul Dinner.
There’s so much waiting for you at Temple Judea. We hope you’ll spend this summer relaxing, recharging, and, of course, TJMaxxing.
