
Eric D. Rosenstein
Associate Rabbi / Director of Education
Rabbi Eric Rosenstein serves the Temple Judea community as Associate Rabbi, and much of his effort is devoted to the Youth & Family space, stewarding its multifaceted educational and community-building opportunities alongside incredible professional and lay partners. As a Jewish leader, he is committed to using the power of Jewish tradition, history, and culture to inspire and guide our daily lives, and to co-creating Jewish life for the next generation. Rabbi Rosenstein is proud to sustain Temple Judea’s legacy as a learning laboratory for the next generation of Jewish professionals through his service as a clinical faculty member for Hebrew Union College education residents who learn through their contributions to our community.
Rabbi Rosenstein also invests in the wider community through his service on the Hebrew Union College’s Rabbinical School Curriculum Review Task Force, with the Association of Reform Jewish Educators’ Ethics Committee and Ethics Code Task Force, and he has served the on the boards of the Sandra Caplan Community Bet Din and the Pacific Association of Reform Rabbis.
Rabbi Rosenstein is a graduate of the Rabbinical School and the Rhea Hirsch School of Education at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. During his training, Rabbi Rosenstein interned at a number of local congregations, including Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills, Leo Baeck Temple, and Temple Ner Ami in Camarillo, California. He also served as a chaplain intern at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, and has served as an educator, song leader, and cantorial soloist across Los Angeles and the United States. Rabbi Rosenstein is a contributing co-author to the book The Fragile Dialogue: New Voices in Liberal Zionism (CCAR Press, 2017).
