Temple Judea is a warm, welcoming, thriving Jewish family. From our youngest members in our Early Childhood Center to our seniors in TJ Village - our hope is that by becoming a part of our synagogue, your spiritual life will be enriched with joy, encouragement, and relationship. Our tradition teaches us that synagogues are meant to fulfill three major functions: worship, learning, and connection. Temple Judea strives to be a place for all three.
Welcome to Temple Judea
At Temple Judea, connection is at the heart of everything we do. To us, synagogue is not only about Friday nights and High Holy Days. It’s about all the days in between. A special conversation with your rabbi, or a heart-warming moment shared between friends. All the ways we study, celebrate, take action, and pray. The comfort and security that comes from being a part of a supportive and loving spiritual community. Connect with us!
Learn
Temple Judea believes in the power and importance of scholarship. Whether it’s a friendly debate over the week’s Parsha, an intimate heart-to-heart in our Teen Journeys program, two small hands holding one another in friendship on our playground, the joyful sound of T’filah, or the laughter and song that ring through our hallways when our Religious School students are learning Judaica and Hebrew, our team of Jewish education experts work tirelessly to ensure that we continue to flourish as a committed, informed, involved Jewish community.
Pray
Whether it’s the High Holy Days, Sukkot, Purim, Passover, Chanukah, Shavuot, or any of the Shabbats in between, there is nothing quite like worship at Temple Judea. Our services are warm and welcoming, abundant with kinship, celebration, reflection, and song. Our cantor and soloists lead the congregation in uplifting and participatory music and our rabbis deliver inspiring and thought-provoking sermons and teachings every week. Whatever the occasion, we invite you into our sacred space to rejoice, reflect, give thanks, and pray.
Celebrate
For our clergy and staff, providing compassionate, specialized lifecycle support to our members is holy work. From B’rit Milah and B’rit Bat, to B’nai Mitzvah, from bereavement support to weddings, from mental health resources to individualized support groups, Temple Judea’s leadership thoughtfully ministers support and guidance to guarantee that every member of our congregation gets the support they need – when they need it.
Act
Temple Judea is committed to social action, and Tzedakah is a defining characteristic of who we are. Our Mitzvah Days are brimming with excitement and purpose, with members of all ages working together to make a difference. Our social justice committee, Judeans for Justice, has initiated programs related to healthcare, domestic violence, environmental protection, and more - in addition to their flagship citizenship program. Our Racial Justice Initiative provides our members a way to make a substantive and sustained effort towards racial equality in our community and beyond. Temple Judea proudly hosts clothing drives, food drives, blood drives, and more throughout the year. We believe that social justice belongs at the center of congregational life and that it is our responsibility to make a tangible, positive impact on our community. Come join us, and experience the fulfillment of purpose that comes when we work together and commit to this core value of tzedakah.
Give
Temple Judea is an inclusive community - we will never turn a family away based on their ability to pay. We are able to do this - and so many more meaningful programs - thanks to the generosity and commitment of all of our members, supporters, friends, as well as our esteemed Pillars - those members who set an example for the congregation in word, stature and deed by giving more than is required. Your contribution to Temple Judea is an investment in Judaism. It is your way of saying that being Jewish is important, and that a resilient, invested Jewish community is not only relevant - but necessary - in our ever changing world. Now more than ever, we need each other. Whatever happens in the world, Temple Judea is here for you every day, in so many ways.
